I'm checking old angle-bracket sheets for a UR5e welding proposal. One column says checked in jig, another says corrected and accepted. Nothing gives the size between those two. Before we buy a new fixture, can I find out whether the old one ever made an acceptable released bracket?
Try the inspection bench folder, ours had the first readings there and only the final tick on the traveller. Bit of a treasure hunt. Does the traveller give a part or batch number you can follow?
Batch number, yes. Found a loose inspection sheet for it, but it says final check. I'm not calling that a before-correction reading just because it's the only number we've got.
I'd be careful about making the old fixture the villain here. We had incoming pieces changed without the jig sheet changing. Or rather, the new component drawing existed but never reached the folder beside the jig. Was yours built for the parts on these sheets?
Our drawing is bracket revision F. The fixture sheet names D. I've asked engineering what changed between them, and the inspector remembers checking after correction only. Thanks Luca, at least I know where that sheet belongs now.
Luca, stores had the older bought-in pieces labelled with their drawing issue. We compared those labels with the current purchase order. Wouldn't have found it from the jig folder alone, and I wouldn't trust my memory of the shapes now.
Revision F changed a gusset edge that the old sheet used for location. Engineering is checking the actual fixture against that change. Still no untouched released-part measurements, so we're leaving the old acceptance figures out of the new capability claim.
