This UR5e shipment has a crushed crate and displaced support, with visible connector-housing damage. Assembly samples are waiting; photos and packaging retained. Seller wants power-on, but has supplied no assessment procedure.

Keep it unpowered and ask for a qualified condition assessment tied to those photographs and the unit identity. A seller's general request to try it is not a damage assessment.

I would ask who is actually being nominated to inspect it, and what they want preserved for that inspection. You have already kept the useful evidence. Avoid dismantling the damaged area to improve the pictures unless the qualified assessor directs the work under an appropriate procedure.

Seller nominated a service contact; that contact requested exterior views and the shipment record before planning attendance. No power applied.

Who receives the assessment when it is done? Keep the repair decision and the shipment complaint connected, so service findings do not vanish into a separate email chain.

And ask for the findings themselves, not only a quotation. A quote may tell purchasing what a proposed repair costs without telling you what was inspected or remains uncertain.

Purchasing and service are on the same record now; attendance arranged, findings requested separately from any repair offer.

That sounds organised. Have they said whether their first visit is an assessment only? It would be useful to know whether the person attending expects authority to start repairs or is coming to establish the scope.

Assessment only. Visit completed unpowered: damaged connector housing documented, further inspection needed before a repair scope. Still no release for commissioning.
