the quote names the arm but not the controller work

I'm comparing first-cobot quotes and one has a clear arm and gripper line, then a vague line for commissioning. It does not say who sets up the controller, proves the basic I/O works, or leaves the files behind. I know the answer may depend on the job, but what would you insist is named before comparing that price with another quote?

I would split it into supplied hardware, work they do, and work you do. Under commissioning, ask for the actual deliverables: installed configuration, acceptance checks, training, and the files or records you expect to receive. A blank line is easier to challenge than a friendly promise to get it running.

Also say which connections are in scope. 'Commissioning' can mean a laptop session, or it can mean someone waits while the panel, network and machine interface are not ready. Those are not the same price risk.

That's useful. I had been treating commissioning as one thing. I'll ask each supplier to fill the same three headings and say what they need from my side. Should make the comparison less of a guessing contest.
