What does inspected cover on this tempting refurbished FR10?

A refurbished FR10 is attractively priced for our puck transfer, but the listing only says inspected. I have no inspection scope or results. What should I establish before spending money on collection, and when would an independent visit be worth arranging?

What package is actually included? Ask for arm and controller identities, accessories, inspection scope and dated findings, plus available service and repair history. The word inspected tells you neither the condition nor whether you can support what arrives.

I have requested those. The price had caught my attention before I knew which cables were included. No collection or inspection visit booked.

Get the information first, then ask an assessor familiar with that equipment to quote a defined inspection scope. The collection price isn't the whole decision; incomplete kit, support availability and integration for the puck job belong in your estimate too.

Would your maintainer join the scope discussion, so access and support needs for your workshop are represented as well as the equipment's condition?

Yes, but don't ask the maintainer to certify areas outside their competence just because they're attending. Define who assesses what and what remains untested.

And confirm the seller permits the proposed checks before paying for travel. A visit limited to watching it power up may leave the same uncertainty at a higher cost.

Seller sent identities and a contents list. Their inspection description is powers up. No repair history supplied yet. I've asked whether they would permit a scoped independent assessment.

That is a narrower claim than the listing suggested. Have you confirmed someone can support the identified package locally? Condition assessment and future support are related purchase questions, but one won't supply the other.

Not confirmed. Our maintainer is checking that before we request travel costs. Thanks, Sarah; involving them now exposed the support question before I spent money collecting the arm.

Has the seller answered the assessment request, or is permission for the proposed checks still outstanding?
