Which check does the heading refer to, Henry? The fixture may have held the bracket in the intended position while the released piece still failed its drawing requirement.
The bracket pass was measured before the clamps came off

Heading says fixture trial passed. Sales copied that as bracket accepted. Same page has the released failure
7 pointsAsk them to change the summary. You don't need to prove the fixture useless to point out that the released bracket failed. Those are different claims, and a buyer shouldn't need to hunt underneath the headline to find the awkward one.
23 pointsCheck what the released measurement used as its reference too. I've had a bracket reading taken from the bench while the drawing used the mounting face. A failure entry still needs an intelligible method.
-6 pointsEmma, would you keep the failure visible while that method is being checked? I would not want an unanswered measurement question to revive the original acceptance claim.
15 pointsYes, leave it visible. I'm asking what the reading means, not suggesting they rub it out.
10 pointsQuality has the method question. Sales has agreed bracket acceptance isn't established. Much better than arguing about the headline
21 pointsDoes the old sheet mention any later correction, Henry, or does it end at that released check?
8 pointsLater pass in a separate column. No note about what happened between. That's another hole
18 pointsPut the gap beside that later number. I wouldn't let anyone turn it into either 'the fixture fixed it' or 'the operator always has to fix it'. You haven't got the route between the two results yet.
17 pointsFor the current proposal, could quality and fabrication agree an observation that follows one identified bracket through fit-up, restraint, release and any further work? That would answer a more useful question than another round of editing the old heading.
22 pointsThey've agreed those stages for a current trial. No trial result yet. Thanks Julia for the wording on that gap
7 pointsWill the person doing any correction add their note directly, rather than somebody guessing it from the final inspection time?
