Is the tool already selected, or are its dimensions still provisional? That determines what information the designer can use for the first complete layout.
13 pointsSelected gripper body. Fingers still being designed. We know their required contact on the blank but not the final outside shape.
7 pointsAsk the toolmaker for an agreed provisional envelope, including the open state. Have the reviewer list the dimensions that still require confirmation before arm selection.
