Seller says our FR5 and matching controller cable went to the freight agent, who says awaiting warehouse receipt under another reference; after 56 days, what connects these messages to an actual physical location?
Ask for the last confirmed receiving party against the identified consignment. Two reference numbers may be legitimate, but neither establishes possession just by appearing in an email. The packing list describes contents, not a completed handover.
That distinction is useful. Louis needs the consignment located first, with cable contents still described according to the evidence available, rather than an invented warehouse inspection of every item.
Louis, has the seller named a collection vehicle, collection record or receiving contact at the agent? A statement that it was handed over should lead to some identifiable event, even if the onward warehouse uses another number.
No receiving contact or collection record so far. I've asked the seller and agent to reconcile their references against the same consignment rather than forward each other's last reply
Keep one person on your side following that reconciliation. Otherwise purchasing may receive a booking reply while production hears it as an arrival update.
Have either of them answered the custody question yet? I'd still leave setup unscheduled on these facts, frustrating as that is after this much waiting.
No new custody answer. I'm the purchasing contact and have marked location unconfirmed in our setup note; the expected warehouse reference is not an arrival date
