Two FR5 offers omit the mass attached around our housing

Both tooling offers justify suitability with the motor housing's mass. Extended fingers, adapter and hose fittings are also coming along. What needs comparing before I buy?

Request the complete loaded assembly, not just a heavier total. Its centre of gravity and inertia matter with the proposed grip position, orientations and motion.

The quotes list the fittings, but neither defines where they sit. So I cannot even compare the assemblies yet.

Correct. Have each supplier identify the arrangement it is offering and assess it against the applicable robot limits. A parts list is useful purchasing information, but it does not establish the installed load geometry.

Include the assembly revision in the purchase scope. Maintenance will need to know which fingers and adapter the assessment covers. An alternative spare may fit mechanically without preserving the assessed load or grip arrangement.

Jasper, that also makes a later supplier substitution visible. Lucy should not have to guess whether a changed finger length is covered by the old assessment.

Both now have our intended nest transfer and housing grip position. I've asked for their complete arrangements and exclusions.

That gives them a common task to assess. Have they accepted responsibility for the assessment, or only acknowledged receiving your request?

Only receipt acknowledged. Nobody has supplied an assessment or agreed its scope yet. Purchase remains undecided.

Keep that responsibility open on the comparison sheet. The hardware price cannot quietly become a complete engineering offer because all the component names are present. Someone must own checking the offered assembly for your task.
