I overlaid our proposed FR5 pallet layers and found a gap beneath the divider carrying most of the contents. The alternating pattern looks great from above. What should packaging review before tooling is chosen?
Give packaging the loaded carton construction and both layer drawings. The external dimensions alone won't tell them how the contents transfer load. And don't assume an interlocked pattern is automatically stronger just because the picture looks convincing.
Worse geometrically, yes. Actual performance still needs packaging's assessment. Keep the concern precise: the proposed support beneath that divider is interrupted. That's enough to request review without predicting a collapse.
Especially the release and exit space near the centre cases. Packaging may favour a tight pattern that the proposed tool can't place cleanly. Both teams need to work from the same revision.
