Which FR5 carton pattern survives our remaining old-stock boxes?

Different stock codes on incoming cartons. Labels survive to the station. Whether production keeps them separated is not settled.

Who decides that separation rule, and can the person feeding the station actually check it without opening the boxes or calling stores each time?

I'd compare an old-stock route outside the new pattern as well, not force one pattern to solve everything just because purchasing hasn't picked a cutoff

That option needs the remaining old-stock quantities and expected order mix, otherwise its extra handling can look negligible simply because nobody has counted it.

Could the overlap be limited to identified orders, rather than an open-ended period of mixed stock? That might make the handling comparison easier to estimate without assuming a cutoff already exists.

Possible. Planner is checking committed orders against the old-stock quantity. I won't invent a tidy end date for them.

Does the new construction need different tooling, or only a different layer?

Tooling says existing proposed fingers may work with the new layer. Withdrawal still under review. No accepted tool arrangement for it yet.

Keep that uncertainty in the operator-plan draft. A code check can identify the carton correctly while the selected pattern or finger arrangement is still wrong.

Production's separation decision should name how returned part-used stock is handled too, since a clear incoming order can become a mixed stack at changeover.
