Which FR5 carton pattern survives our remaining old-stock boxes?

Both carton constructions are in the shared support review. Old-stock cutoff still unagreed. I need the pattern comparison to include that overlap, not assume the older boxes disappear before commissioning.

Are the two constructions distinguishable when they reach the pallet station?

Different stock codes on incoming cartons. Labels survive to the station. Whether production keeps them separated is not settled.

Who decides that separation rule, and can the person feeding the station actually check it without opening the boxes or calling stores each time?

I'd compare an old-stock route outside the new pattern as well, not force one pattern to solve everything just because purchasing hasn't picked a cutoff

That option needs the remaining old-stock quantities and expected order mix, otherwise its extra handling can look negligible simply because nobody has counted it.

Production owns separation, Amy. They can read the codes. Felix, separate old-stock handling is an option; Rosa, remaining quantities are being checked.

Has packaging said either construction is supported by the current pattern?

New construction looks promising in the section. No approval yet. Old one has an unsupported bearing area at two rotated positions.

Then there aren't two ready versions of the same plan. Keep the separate old-stock option visible while they work on the new one, without pretending it costs nothing

Felix, and without presenting separate handling as already agreed. Ella still needs production's decision and an understandable changeover instruction for whichever route survives.

Yep, proposed. I'm trying to keep an alternative alive, not volunteer the packer for it

Could the overlap be limited to identified orders, rather than an open-ended period of mixed stock? That might make the handling comparison easier to estimate without assuming a cutoff already exists.

Possible. Planner is checking committed orders against the old-stock quantity. I won't invent a tidy end date for them.

Does the new construction need different tooling, or only a different layer?

Tooling says existing proposed fingers may work with the new layer. Withdrawal still under review. No accepted tool arrangement for it yet.

Keep that uncertainty in the operator-plan draft. A code check can identify the carton correctly while the selected pattern or finger arrangement is still wrong.

Production's separation decision should name how returned part-used stock is handled too, since a clear incoming order can become a mixed stack at changeover.

Planner identified the remaining old-stock orders. Separate handling is being costed for those. New pattern still awaits packaging and withdrawal decisions.

That is at least a finite awkward job now. Have they counted returning leftover boxes too, as Rosa asked?

Included in the request, not answered. Thanks Rosa for that one. Current comparison still has an open handling cost and an unapproved new pattern.
