Our proposed FR10 sensor-bracket nest has a pin and two side stops that all look happy in CAD, but the bench samples sit differently; before someone orders a bigger clamp, how do I ask the toolmaker to show which contacts are actually meant to locate it?
Ask for the datum scheme from the part drawing mapped onto the nest. Pin, side stops, supports, clamp direction. Then check in-tolerance samples against it; more contact points aren't automatically more location.
Then show them the width limits and the samples that don't settle. Two stops competing across that width can be the problem. Let the designer resolve the contact scheme before the clamp becomes a bending tool.
Have the samples been measured? A nest problem and an out-of-tolerance bracket need different answers. Keep the rocking and stable samples identified for that comparison.

That gives you something to test. Include unclamped seating and the intended retention check in the agreed trial. The classroom example should explain why the clearance is there, not teach people to fill it with packing.
