The FR10 sketch brings a brass blank out of the mill without drawing the gripper body or open door. I've asked for the whole loaded tool, but the supplier wants a base choice first. How do we compare positions without guessing away the awkward bits?
You can compare provisional positions using a clearly identified tool envelope, but ask who supplied that envelope and what it includes. A base choice made with no allowance for the gripper is barely a comparison at all.
Include the blank at the proposed grip depth, not just the empty tool. Otherwise a convenient change in where the fingers hold it can make one base look better without anyone noticing why.
Grip depth added. Machine fitter has measured the open-door handle position. The layout drafter can show both candidate bases with the same provisional assembly now.
Hold it. Estimated geometry is useful for rejecting an obviously bad position, not for giving the stand maker a finished location and hoping the tool later agrees.
