Compare how they sit on the fingers, not just the loose pad thickness. I inspected a tool where a replacement pad looked identical until its backing sat on a screw head. The grip was then beautifully repeatable in the wrong shape. Check the mounting faces and approved pad details with the tool isolated.
Pickup edits after the finger pads were changed

I came onto nights to find two new pickup offsets in our FR5 housing-transfer job. The tray had not moved, but the finger pads had been replaced. One housing now sits slightly skewed in the grip.
I have asked for a tooling check before another offset is added. What would you compare between the old and replacement pads? The old pair is still in the maintenance drawer.
