They can describe the route, but the missing pre-correction measurement prevents you from estimating how far the released bracket was out. Keep correction as its own operation in the study rather than crediting the final pass to the fixture.
Gabriel, worth checking, but don't assume either was wrong. The missing record is enough of a problem without giving the operator an imaginary faulty gauge.
The gauge reference matches the drawing revision; the operator says the released bracket would not enter it, then did after correction, but he has no numerical reading.
That gives you a before-and-after judgement under the gauge method, provided quality confirms how it was used. You still cannot turn it into a numerical distortion value for the fixture designer.
Quality confirmed the gauge was the required released check; we've recovered the rejection meaning, not its magnitude, and the proposed trial sheet now records the pre-correction dimension separately.
For that trial, retain the individual bracket identity through correction as well. On our comparison that was what allowed the correction effort to be tied to a result, rather than spread across the batch as a guess.
