Our delivered FR5 has the expected external labels, but the arm-connection cable assembly differs from the guide. I have kept it unpowered and sent the full identities with the mismatched page. How do I get the technician to identify which assembly that page actually describes?
Ask for the supplied cable assembly's applicable drawing and its revision, not another assurance about the arm model. I can't identify your connections, but I'd want the installer in that exchange so the answer reaches the person who has to use it.
Installer is copied in. The seller's technician says the guide page covers a different cable assembly and has asked for the full external cable label. Sales had forwarded only our arm label.
Send that original cable label with a wider external view showing which assembly it belongs to. No opening covers to improve the enquiry. You need them to identify what's supplied, not another loose label divorced from its location.
Sent the full external view and label together. The technician now has the order configuration, arm identity and cable identity in one message. We have not accepted a connection instruction yet.
Keep the mismatched guide page in that message too. It explains why the installer stopped and which documentation needs replacing, even after the component identities are clear.
And make that direct technical conversation the route for the answer. You shouldn't spend another fortnight translating connection names between an installer and a technician who can talk to each other.
Drawing arrived, but its revision note refers to an additional interface assembly not identified in the first response. Installer has asked the technician to confirm that assembly against our external overview too.
Good catch. Don't lose the overview after identifying the cable; the delivered package can include another assembly the arm guide never meant to cover.
Technician has now identified that interface and supplied its applicable page. Installer completed the document review against the delivered arrangement. The setup checklist is separate; the matching papers haven't been used to declare installation complete.
Useful result. Has the working folder lost the wrong guide, with the old copy retained only as correspondence? Otherwise the next person may pick the familiar filename and start this conversation again.
Yes, working folder contains the reviewed assembly-specific documents and their revisions. The old guide is marked superseded in the enquiry archive. Thanks Daniel; the installer and covering technician both have the same set now.
