I added the tray locator, then a replacement tray missed again

The locator seemed to help our UR5e sleeve transfer. A few supervised runs looked more consistent, then we changed the tray and missed another pickup. How do I report that without either calling it fixed or pretending the first improvement never happened? I want the next person to see exactly which part of the result survived the changeover.

Identify both trays in the update. 'Tray changed' loses the useful distinction when stores swaps them again.

And compare the way each tray meets the locator, before deciding this is a locator failure. A repeatable outside edge need not put the pockets in the same place on two different trays.

I've labelled them and kept the missed-pick record with the replacement. Both looked seated to me, but that was a visual check of the rim. I hadn't checked pocket positions against the located edge.

Good reason to measure that relationship with the trays removed under your normal safe procedure. Compare against the intended tray geometry, not just one tray against the other; neither should become the standard by accident.

Check the tray revision while they're out. Same-looking stock isn't always interchangeable (and an old handwritten label isn't much proof).

Tooling found it. The replacement is an older tray revision: its pocket pattern is offset from the locating edge compared with the specified drawing. It was sitting against the locator, just presenting the sleeves elsewhere. Stores has separated that revision from the trays for this job. I've updated the thread with the drawing comparison. I'm calling this an identified changeover mismatch, not a proven cure for every missed pickup.

Thanks for coming back with the revision. Is the replacement tray check now in the changeover sheet?

Yes, revision and pocket-layout check added. The agreed tray is back for the next supervised assessment; I haven't got those run results yet.
