Released bracket fails the old inspection nest

Our UR5e welding proposal inherits a correction step. Bracket fits the weld fixture, fails the inspection nest. Who checked the nest?

Is it a checking fixture with its own drawing, or just another bracket somebody uses as a comparison? That would change who I'd ask first

Proper checking fixture. Drawing exists. Its label has no revision.

Before a new training sheet calls this distortion, I would ask quality to compare the checking fixture with the current part drawing. The old instruction may be teaching people to satisfy the wrong object.

And measure a released part properly. An unlabeled nest may still be the right nest.

What actually fails when you put the bracket in it? One locating point, or the whole shape?

Rear lug will not enter. Quality measured released samples against revision F; those samples pass.

Then the old correction instruction sounds particularly expensive. Has anyone checked whether that rear lug changed between drawing versions? Not saying it did, just a fairly small comparison to make now

Ash, were those samples measured before correction?

Yes. Untouched after release. Nest matches revision D, including the old rear-lug position.

That explains why the experienced operator was quietly ignoring the nest while the relief operator followed it. Give them one agreed replacement instruction, otherwise the old habit wins whenever the updated sheet goes missing.

Old nest withdrawn. Quality issued revision F inspection instruction. Correction step removed for this mismatch, trainer briefed.

Useful find. Do not bin the old nest before its identity is marked.
