1750 mm reach is tempting. Still keeping the positioner?

UR8 Long was announced this week: 1750 mm reach, 8 kg payload. I'm interested in reaching more of a weldment without shifting the base. I'd still lay out torch angles and cable clearance before throwing out the positioner. Yes, but I would model the approaches as well as the weld path. Touching every point isn't the same as approaching each point usefully.

I'd keep the positioner in the comparison. Buying more reach to avoid rotating one awkward part can be a very expensive principle.

Not throwing it out! I want two layouts costed. The shorter one might still win once the torch is in the drawing.
