One pallet delivered, two crates on the packing list

Our FR5 arm arrived strapped to a pallet, but the mounting kit crate listed separately by the seller isn't here. The freight receipt says one pallet and the tracking says delivered. Those can both be true while we're still missing a crate. I've got photos from unloading. What do I ask the consolidator to trace: the pallet reference or the missing crate number?

Both, with their relationship stated. Does your arrival photograph show any loose straps or an empty space where another crate might have been?

No empty footprint. Just the arm crate, wrapped tight. The seller's departure photo shows a smaller box beside it, though I can't read the number. Beside it, not attached to it.

Then avoid describing two crates as one delivered handling unit. Ask for the consolidation record that associates each crate identifier with a shipment or pallet.

Consolidator sent a receipt for two pieces into their warehouse. Forwarder's release note says one pallet. There's the gap, I reckon, but no one has supplied a picture of what they built onto it.

Does that warehouse receipt name your kit crate, or just count two anonymous pieces?

That detail matters. A matching quantity is weaker evidence than the missing identifier appearing on the receipt (especially in consolidated freight).

Has anyone physically searched the consolidator's warehouse against the small crate number rather than closing the query against the delivered pallet?

The receipt does name the kit crate. I've now got the warehouse to open a search against that number. Still no location, but they finally stopped sending me our signed pallet receipt.

Our missing carton was sitting under another customer's pallet reference. The warehouse found it from its own label, not the master tracking. Ask them to include relabelled freight in that search if their records show repacking.
