The adapter delivered with our UR5e has a different reference from the one in the agreed plastic-sample trial. The seller has sent that same trial clip as evidence that the substitute will work. I have the supplied tooling set aside and photographs of both references. Before paying for a local assessment, I want the seller to explain the substitution against our actual tray-handling job, not against a catalogue mounting pattern.
We had a changeover that looked straightforward until the replacement assembly left the operator less room to see the part seat. The robot still reached it. I'd ask for the complete proposed assembly and handling sequence with this adapter, including the tray view the operator needs. Matching the mounting pattern is only one part of what you've bought.
The seller has provided a drawing identifying the substitute, but the sample-handling assessment still names the original adapter. I have asked them to reconcile those references before proposing another demonstration.
Are they actually offering a new assessment, Theo, or just sending whatever document you ask for one at a time? I'd want a named person bringing those pieces together.
Only separate documents so far. No named technical reviewer. That is the question I have now put back to them, with the two adapter references in the same message.
Then I'd leave the tooling aside as you have it. You might end up accepting the substitute after a proper review, but you shouldn't have to infer that review from a growing pile of attachments.
