I'm back with a different machine from my polymer-blank sketch, this time an FR10 proposal for brass parts, and putting the real door handle into the drawing has made the lovely clear approach disappear; the supplier wants a smaller gripper before anyone has checked whether it will hold our part properly
Who's going to change those proposed smaller fingers? We had a neat little tool that needed half the assembly apart to reach its fasteners. That part of the demonstration was mysteriously absent.
The alternate base spot takes our fixture trolley parking space, which I had rather lazily treated as empty floor; the setter would like his trolley back
I'd still keep the smaller tool in the comparison, once it has proper fingers and a holding assessment; moving everything around it isn't automatically the cheap answer
