Crushed crate and shifted supports. Damage near the FR5 controller enclosure. Kept arrival photos and packing; seller says switch on, with no assessment method.

Keep it unpowered and ask for an assessment by a competent person with a procedure appropriate to that damage; a seller asking whether it starts has not established that energising it is an appropriate inspection step.

Does your report show the displaced supports as well as the damaged enclosure, or only the close-up?

I would preserve the receiving condition in one indexed set. Crate, supports, equipment identity, affected area. It saves the next person deciding that five separate photographs describe five separate deliveries, which is apparently a popular administrative sport.

Jack, both are shown. Harish, I've grouped the views under the delivery and equipment references.

Who holds it out of the assembly-sample schedule meanwhile? Sales won't manage your bench booking.

Our workshop lead. The sample session is postponed, not waiting for me to try the power button.

Has technical support actually answered the assessment request, separate from the seller's original suggestion?

Jack's distinction is worth keeping in the correspondence, Kai, because a referral to technical support is not their assessment and should not silently become a release to use the equipment.

Technical support wants the controller returned for assessment. No packing or collection arrangement confirmed yet.

Are they specifying how it should be protected for that return, given the original supports shifted? Reusing the damaged packing by default could create a fresh argument about when another mark appeared.

They supplied return packing instructions and arranged suitable packing through the collector. Collection is booked; controller still here.

Keep it held until handover. A booking doesn't put the damage assessment any further along.
