Different the tool connection adapter, no application evidence

I ordered Fairino FR5 from an unnamed seller in China with tooling confirmed in a sample trial for transferring small assembly shells. The arm arrived, but the tool connection adapter differs from that setup. The seller calls the replacement kit equivalent without showing it handling our samples. I've waited 55 days for clarification and paused our tooling review before installation.

Can you identify the agreed kit in the sample trial and the delivered items in your photos? That's a useful starting comparison.

Yes. The trial shows the agreed arrangement, and my unpacking photos show a different the tool connection adapter. The order messages link that selected kit to transferring small assembly shells.

Ask the seller to explain the substitution using those images and provide evidence for the delivered kit in your application. Keep it uninstalled pending a suitability assessment.

@LucyCarter1002 Must I establish that the supplied kit fails before asking them to justify it? Their responses seem to put that burden into the conversation.

The visible substitution is enough to frame a specific query without asserting that the replacement is unusable. Request the basis for its suitability with the samples originally agreed.

A demonstration using the supplied kit and agreed samples should establish equivalence for this purpose. Request a recording of it performing the agreed task.

A recording could support particular handling observations without establishing full equivalence. Surface effects, release behaviour, and sample variation may remain unaddressed.

You're right, 'settle equivalence' was too broad. Ask for the agreed observations using the supplied kit, then review what that evidence actually covers.

If it picks the sample up, isn't that the important bit?

Pickup is one observation. For your agreed task, placement and release may matter too. Use the actual requirements rather than adding a wish list.

I'll go back to our trial notes. I'm irritated about the swap, but I don't want to invent new requirements halfway through the argument.

In a separate handling application of mine, sample release was as relevant as pickup. I included both observations in that application's trial notes for that reason.

@DanielBrown0913 Did you ask for close-ups, or did those make it harder to follow the whole sequence?

The recording should preserve the sample's handling sequence while showing relevant contact detail. A tightly cropped view may omit information needed to understand the observed result.

The recording needs to identify the tooling being demonstrated. Without that connection, it might add no evidence about the substituted kit.

The seller only described the substitution after delivery and provided no application result for the supplied tooling. Evidence from our original kit trial doesn't establish the replacement's performance.

@LucyCarter1002 Could you just try fitting it without running anything?

External inspection can help document it. Fitting uncertain tooling isn't needed to ask about the swap; have the applicable interfaces reviewed before installation.

I'll leave it as received. I'd rather review a proposed answer than add my own modifications to the mystery.

I've got a clear comparison to send with my request for an explanation and application evidence. Our supplied tooling is still uninstalled and its suitability remains open.
