The correction note has outlived its explanation

Our FR5 bracket proposal copies an old fixture adjustment, although the records only show clamped alignment and loose-part failures. I'd like the missing measurement story understood before the adjustment becomes somebody else's standard method.

We found different measurement references mixed into our old bracket folder; can you tell what each of your two checks measured from?

The clamped one uses the fixture base. The loose one gives a number with no sketch. So no, not yet.

Could the old inspector identify the checking kit from a photograph? That got our search moving without trying to recreate the whole job

Keep the unknown reference beside the old result. A finished-part check defined from the current drawing will give quality a clearer starting point for the retained samples.

Photos sent to the inspector. Quality has picked the traceable current-revision samples for a fresh check. Some of the old parts have no identities.

The inspector recognised the plate, but says it was used before correction. There's a second measurement step missing from the papers we have.

Did they say what the correction involved?

Ask about the component revisions too. My recent jig mystery included a different gusset, and I nearly copied the old fit-up aid into the new design before spotting that.

Is the correction work included anywhere in the proposed staffing or floor space? I would leave that open while you investigate, rather than let a missing record become zero work in the estimate.

Amy, have you found any final readings taken after that correction? Even one traceable example might explain what they were trying to achieve.

No final readings yet. The inspector remembers a separate adjustment bench but not the details. Planning has left that work open, and tooling is checking the component revisions.

Current sample measurements are back: one misses the drawing height. The copied adjustment is still excluded. We need a defined process for this bracket, not a guessed explanation for the old one.

Have quality attach the measurement setup to those results. It will help the fixture review stay anchored to the current part while the historical questions remain open.
