Damaged UR5e tool-interface cover and a request to switch on

Our UR5e arrived for molded-test-piece sorting with a crushed crate corner and shifted supports. Visible damage near the tool interface cover. I kept the packaging and photographed it; setup remains unpowered. The unnamed Chinese seller says switch on. I need an assessment route, not a guess that the cover is the whole problem.

Keep it unpowered pending qualified assessment. Ask for the assessor, scope and applicable procedure; a general instruction to energise does not resolve the visible damage.

Send the overall crate and displaced-support photographs with the close damage views, so the technical reviewer sees more than one broken-looking cover

Has anyone technical acknowledged the photographs, or only sales?

Only the sales reply so far. The photographs include the crate and supports, not just the cover. I have requested a technical contact.

Who will coordinate the seller, carrier and qualified assessor?

I'd keep the commercial delivery report open too, although organising the assessment should not depend on deciding who caused the damage first

Agreed. Damage assessment and responsibility are different questions. Neither a carrier dispute nor a seller's reassurance establishes the condition required for commissioning.

Purchasing is coordinating the delivery report. Maintenance has the setup on hold. No assessor or procedure has been confirmed, and I have not removed the damaged cover to look inside.

Will whoever receives the next instruction know the setup is still unpowered?

Put the condition and hold in the shared record, not only this email exchange.

That is recorded with the photographs now. Any proposed inspection work goes to the qualified reviewer first; no power-on trial or repair has been authorised.
